Young Professionals Prepare for Success at CME Group

Over the past eight years, CME Group has hosted 71 interns through the Genesys Works Young Professionals Program. During the ten-month paid internship, CME Group provides meaningful work experiences, mentoring support, and employee engagement opportunities, while building the future tech workforce of the community as a whole. Through the Genesys Works Young Professional program, CME Group has hosted paid interns since 2016, providing more than $600,000 in wages for students.

Something Good in Englewood Day

On June 5th, the Englewood community celebrated “Something Good in Englewood Day”, which was originally lauded by former mayor Rahm Emanuel for the consistent high quality education practices of Little Angels Learning Center for over 25 years. The early childhood school, serving children from ages birth to five, has a list of impressive accomplishments – it has maintained gold circle status by the State of Illinois’ excel rate as well as has a 91% teacher retention rate, 85% parent participation rate, and, for the past 10 years, 81-90% of their graduates have been accepted and placed into CPS gifted/selective enrollment elementary schools.

Congratulations to Our Newest Grantees

In May, CME Group Foundation awarded a number of grants in Computer Science and Kindergarten Readiness.

The Computer Science grantees are leading work that is focused on equity of access to Computer Science programming, with a focus on low-income communities and access for students who identify as girls, Black, and/or Latinx. The grant funding will support both in-school and out-of-school time opportunities for students. For the past two years, CME Group Foundation has had an emphasis on middle school computer science so students have access to high quality programming to prepare them for advanced placement credit in high school.
