CME Group Foundation Supports K-8 STEM Entrepreneurship Through Illinois Student Invention Convention

As technology and product development continues to advance, CME Group Foundation is committed to supporting the next wave of innovators in our communities. Since 2020, CME Group Foundation has granted a total of $85,000 to the Chicago Innovation Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to educating, connecting and celebrating innovators of all types through year-round educational events and programming, including the annual Illinois Student Invention Convention (ISIC).

Union League Boys and Girls Club Afterschool Program Supports Girls

On June 5th, the Englewood community celebrated “Something Good in Englewood Day”, which was originally lauded by former mayor Rahm Emanuel for the consistent high quality education practices of Little Angels Learning Center for over 25 years. The early childhood school, serving children from ages birth to five, has a list of impressive accomplishments – it has maintained gold circle status by the State of Illinois’ excel rate as well as has a 91% teacher retention rate, 85% parent participation rate, and, for the past 10 years, 81-90% of their graduates have been accepted and placed into CPS gifted/selective enrollment elementary schools.

That’s why the girls are learning techniques like positive self-talk, mindfulness and coping skills that many adults don’t have, Perez said.

President Obama’s Topping Out Ceremony

In 2021, the CME Group Foundation awarded a special grant of $1,000,000 to the Obama Foundation to support programming in Chicago, including Chicago Leaders, My Brother’s Keeper Alliance and more. Through this partnership, the CME Group Foundation was invited to the Topping Out Ceremony and was honored to have the opportunity to sign the final and highest beam that will go into the Obama Presidential Center, set to be complete in 2026.
