K-12 Economics and Financial Education
CME Group Foundation believes that economics education is necessary for students to fully and effectively participate in the global economy. The need for youth financial and economics education is well-documented.
Students in grades K-12 should learn basic economics in school so that they will become better-informed workers, consumers and producers, savers and investors, and most important, citizens.
Financial education enables young people to start positive habits, such as:
-
saving money
-
budgeting
-
using mainstream banking services effectively
Rather than fund one-off enrichment programs, CME Group Foundation supports in-school, curriculum-based coursework.
